Companies destroying our roads!

Everyone is all annoyed with the ICD (Idiot Control Devices) that they have installed along just about every road on Grand Bahama.  Yeah they piss me off too but at least they are not as bad as the ICD's that the concrete trucks are installing in the middle of the darn roads!

Have you ever been on the Coral Road circle coming from the Sports Complex and hit a bump so huge you would think someone just left a rock in the middle of the road for you intentionally so you could jack up the piece of car that you own?  They have huge lines of concrete that not only damage the road but they damage your car.

In these tough times no one has that extra cash to go fixing any car because you rode through some wet concrete those idiots let leak out of the truck and damage your paint on your vehicle.

Another area where this is happening a lot is on the intersection of Churchill Drive and East Sunrise Highway -- as if that intersection already isn't a killer for drivers. You have people flying around the curve there like bats straight out of hell and they have no regard for the actual speed limit.

The caution light there does nothing because they do not heed it! I was going home the other day around 12pm to go and pick something up and there was a concrete truck in the intersection there - actually in the intersection I tell you. He had concrete spilling out of the truck at that point.  I saw the driver with his hose that was attached to his truck and I thought he was trying to be a good guy and wash the concrete down out of the road.

I went home did my thing and then left, the driver was still there on the corner.  My thoughts were at least he has enough sense to wash it down! Oh the faith I have in people.  When I got back home around 3pm to drop off the kids, the mountain of concrete that was in the road I was literally stunned and I could tell some other folks had already drove through the wet concrete.

I picked up my cell phone and immediately and dialed Freeport Aggregates. They asked if I got the truck number I told them no because he looked as though he was cleaning it up.  I described the truck to the tee, right down to the Bahamian flag on the barrel of the truck which she said was definitely their truck. She got all my info and said a manager would call me back.

Two days later I called them back and the manager's response was, "OH, that couldn't have been our truck."  I said yes it was because it had Freeport Aggregates on the side and the flag on the truck. His response was that he would look into it.

Needless to say that he didn't do jack about it. There is still a huge pile of concrete on the corner. I think the Port needs to something about this, it is just ridiculous! Not only are they jacking up the roads, endangering motorists, messing up our cars and just plain ole being stupid about it, they are getting away with it!
