News Police Reports Police investigating suspected drowning in West Grand Bahama

Police were notified about the incident at 12:21pm this afternoon and they responded to the call to the scene in the Deadman’s Reef area where the female visitor along with a family member and other guests were snorkeling when she experienced some breathing difficulty. She was later transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via ambulance where she was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty. Newer news items:

This afternoon, Sunday 17th June, 2012, officers at the Central Detective Unit are continuing their investigations into an incident that resulted in the drowning death of a 61 year old US visitor from Pennsylvania who arrived on the island this morning via cruise ship and was expected to depart this afternoon.
