An annual highlight of the Cirrus Fly In is The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation sponsored welcome reception. This year’s reception featured an Androsia Fashion Show in which some of the pilots participated. The group was also escorted on a fun-filled shopping spree to ensure they were exposed to the wide variety of gift and souvenir items to be found on the Island. Pilots participating in the Fly In arrived from cities throughout the U.S. as far west as California. During their stay in The Bahamas, the group enjoyed activities including snorkeling, boating and Island Exploring. While on the Island, the group was hosted by the Bahamas Tourist Office’s Harbor Island Manager, Ms. Betty Bethel and Bahamas Tourist Office’s Aviation Manager, Mr. Leonard Stuart. ELEUTHERA, Bahamas -- Twenty seven Cirrus aircraft representing the largest number of airplanes ever to be received as a group at The White Crown FBO, recently touched down in North Eleuthera for their annual Bahamas Fly In. The 27 planes brought some 60 persons to Eleuthera and included the pilots, their spouses and guest. The group was hosted for a weekend of fun and relaxation at Valentine and Coral Sands Hotels, Harbor Island. As in the past, the trip served as an introduction on flying to The Bahamas for a large percentage of the group, many who have never flown over the ocean before. The goal of the organizers was to make this type of virgin experience as smooth as possible, as well as create an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie between the pilots who are all owners and operators of the Cirrus aircraft.
