Fourth annual Charles Knowles Golf Classic to be held on Easter Sunday

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- The 4th Annual Charles Knowles Golf Classic will be held on Sunday April 8, 2012, at the Fortune Hills Golf & Country Club.  This memorial golf tournament, honoring former golf enthusiast, Charlie Knowles, commences at 8:30 a.m., shotgun style.  The tournament is organized by Charlie's son, Dwight Knowles of Keystone Development Group and daughter, Tamese Knowles President of IE Imports, a company founded by Charles Knowles in 2006, that provides import/export service to Abaco, Bahamas.

Since the passing of "Papa Charlie" in 2009, his family has kept his memory alive by hosting this Golf Classic.  In keeping with his interest for the youth in our community, the tournament has expanded to include eight [8] junior golfers, who are sponsored by businesses in Freeport and Abaco.

The Knowles family wish to thank - Kim Roberts, Colette Bootle and Louis Schneider, from the Abaco arts and crafts community who are supporting this tournament and remembering "Papa Charlie" by donating certain pieces of their work to be raffled on this occasion.  Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Cancer Society on behalf of the late Charles Knowles.
