The Birth of a brand new World Age also signifies the birth of a “New Humanity.”
You and I, and everybody on our planet at this time arrived (either fully aware, or half asleep) at the very beginning of something new; something we all knew we would participate in before we incarnated into our physical selves. Most of us have forgotten though.
Do not expect to be fully awake yet. We are still like babes who need to learn from not knowing.. Many of us who walked the path toward spiritual enlightenment and higher consciousness for a long time, may be somewhat better prepared in understanding and interpreting what we will experience and how to embrace the Unknown fearlessly; but we too will start from the beginning. We enter a new Era.
When you were born, you brought with you talents and gifts that only you possess. Maybe you knew instinctively what they were and allowed at least some of them to develop and blossom. Maybe you have suppressed your gifts, and still yearn to express what your heart and soul know for sure.
Today is the last day to prepare yourself for the most profound and unprecedented event in your lifetime. Why? Because tomorrow, on December 21st 2012, the Old World Age of 5125 years will come to a close. What does this mean?
It is time to choose what to let go of, and what to get more of by cultivating a new way of thinking and living.
Preparations to celebrate the Beginning of a New World Age are happening all over the world with tens of million people participating.
We are standing at a cross road of choices that will have consequences for our lives and that of our beautiful earth. The obvious choice is for Peace, Equality, Happiness, Oneness, Cooperation, and Freedom in a sustainable world that honors all of life.
Your conscious participation will make a difference in all areas of your personal life and to the whole of life. If you don’t feel like actively participate in any group, just send positive and loving thoughts to the entire creation of God; allowing God’s perfect Love and Light to clear all that is not of Love from your Being. With just this intent, you have made a positive choice for Love over Fear. You can trust in the universal law of attraction; whatever you focus on with intent will be given to you.

The Humane Society of Grand Bahama wishes everyone a very happy holiday season, and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
Many thanks to our many amazing friends, volunteers, rescue partners and supporters. Thanks to all of you 2012 was a much better year for our organisation and our animals than the last few years.
With your continued help we hope to make 2013 even better for our animals and our community.
We hope you enjoy this little slideshow which includes photos from this past year of some of our animals, staff, volunteers, directors and friends.

To be true to my profession I thought it might be appropriate to include a note on the planning of urban centres in the context of our islands.
Like it or not communities are invariably judged by their downtown areas where businesses congregate and thus is referred to as the central business district (CBD). An important attribute of a successful city centre is that it should be pedestrian-friendly. First let’s take the nation’s capital, Nassau. The downtown area has some interesting colonial-era architecture and is pedestrian-friendly in the daytime (at least) largely because Bay Street is fed tourists from the nearby cruise ships. There are covered sidewalks and readily accessible shops. It scores well in popularity with visitors. After dark however, it is another matter.
It is a cultural norm that few Bahamians choose to live in apartments and certainly fewer still would ever choose to live downtown. This means there is little activity by residents in the larger city centres especially after dark. Convenient and inexpensive off-street parking is a major reason local people tend to avoid the central area of Nassau day or night. Another reason is that most businesses in Bay Street nowadays are tourist-oriented. So, without people in the area at night the place is deserted, or worse, is sometimes a magnet for undesirable elements. Downtown living is presently being popularized in the United States but in places like Paris living downtown has always been popular. The swanky shops on the grandes boulevades often have four floors of apartements above. This is also true of many European and Asian cities like Rome, Bangkok and to some extent, New York except that in New York there may be 70 floors of living accommodation above the high end stores!
Can you feel it? Can you feel powerful energies stirring up within you?
If you have followed my articles, or any other publications about the importance of the imminently approaching day of December 21st 2012, I hope that your excitement is one of joyful anticipation rather than any anxiety and fear.
Millions of people all around the world prepared, and are ready for what is called by many names; I prefer “Choice Day2012”, because we are called upon to make a definite choice about how we envision our future and that of our children, grand children, and countless upcoming generations. You and I and millions of our brothers and sisters have been called to participate in the Birthing of a New World Age.
Are you willing to offer to the world your thoughts, feelings and even actions that demonstrate Peace, Love and Oneness? Can we become awake enough to understand that we can only save our beautiful earth and ourselves if we change our ways and attitudes?
