Dear Editor, While waiting for the BTC offices to open so I could phone them I started to flick through the phone book and read a little on Bahamian Culture. Needless to say it was very interesting and informative, particularly the African Influence section on Page 5. I'm not sure how many people have taken the time to read this page, but I would encourage everyone one to. It raises the questions- is this really necessary? Do I really need to know this about Bahamian culture? No way is that really in there?!! Maybe it's just me but I found it very funny that number 3 out of the 6 phrases about 'African words and expressions have been retained such as...... 3. Nanny- (v.n.)- faeces or the act of defecation' Quality! I'd have much preferred 5 expressions instead of 6! Is this really necessary and has it enhanced my knowledge of Bahamian culture. Actually yes it may well have. I can't wait to start telling people I've been to visit Nanny!!!! Regards Philip
