FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- The Chairman and President of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited and Port Group Limited today announced the appointment of Mrs. Nicole Colebrooke as Manager of the newly implemented Customer Relations Unit.
With the impending move of the Grand Bahama Power Company, a tenant of the GBPA Headquarters Building, in early 2010, Port Group Limited has restructured to form its own Customer Relations Department. “As servants of the people, providing quality customer service is a priority for our Group as we create a more efficient and service-oriented organization. As such, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Colebrooke, who embodies superior customer service, and is well equipped to lead this new department” stated Mr. Ian Rolle, President of the GBPA Group.
Mrs. Colebrooke has been employed with the Group for two decades, starting as a summer student and a part-time secretary in the Licensing Department. She has worked her way up through the ranks in the Licensing Department to executive secretary, supervisor and licensing manager prior to her appointment. She possesses more than 18 years experience as a business professional with various certifications including Certified Professional Manager with James Madison University, Virginia and she is presently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree with Phoenix University.
Mrs. Colebrooke in her new capacity will be responsible for ensuring that the Group provides outstanding customer service and offers efficient bill payment and collection services. She will also continue to manage the business licensing process. As Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) is not an affiliated GBPA or PGL company, once GBPC moves to the former Gulf Union Building, power bills will not be paid at the GBPA Headquarters. All other bills will continue to be paid at the GBPA Headquarters, including water and garbage fees.
As Licensing Manager, Nicole has overseen numerous initiatives in the Licensing Department including management of all licensees and prospective licensees in the Port area; the implementation of computerized License Agreements and Certificates of Good Standing; and implementation of the new Licensing Inspector program to oversee regulatory licensing functions. Under her direction, the licensing process was streamlined to cause greater efficiency and significantly reduce the turn-around time in obtaining a GBPA business license.
“I am honoured and humbled that management has expressed such confidence in my abilities. Service with excellence and professionalism is my motto and because I’ve lived by this rule throughout my life, I have no other alternative but to ensure that we deliver on our commitment to provide outstanding customer service,” said Mrs. Colebrooke.
Nicole was born in Nassau, raised on Grand Bahama and Abaco, and is actively involved in several civic organizations. She is married to Kendle Colebrooke, and they have two sons Travaughn and Trenton.
