Children from Sweeting’s Cay and McLean’s Town were picked up at the local government docks and transported to Deep Water Cay (DWC) along with local chaperones and Principal of McLean’s Town School, Mrs. Dorothy Lewis, for a day of fun. “The Culbreath’s sent us a flyer about the event and we helped pass the word on in the community,” noted Lewis. “Today’s events have been really well organised and I am pleased to see the relationship between the resort and our community flourish.” Pictured are the children, chaperones and DWC staff and management just before they started the Treasure Hunt. The new management team were pleased to connect with their neighbors and enjoyed every movement of it too as did their staff who helped organize a treasure hunt, limbo competition, and dance games for the visiting kids. Its LIMBO Time! It was limbo time for this youngster, who travelled to Deep Water Cay last weekend for a fun day of games organised by the resort. “It was great to see all our staff participating and enjoying the day just as much as the kids did,” said Manager Bill Clubreath. The children, who ranged from age 4 to 14, also enjoyed freshly baked cookies, ice cream and prizes courtesy of the resort before heading home. The Deep Water Cay team plan to do much more with local residents and will be working actively with local schools for back to school support. Management was also pleased to report that the last few weeks have been very busy at the resort with numbers up by almost 40%. They are fully booked for the July 4th holiday and are planning an American/Bahamian barbeque with fireworks everyone can enjoy.
