Good reports of marlin catches have been coming in from Harbour Island. Most recently, Capt. Rich Helmuth aboard the Wani Kanati reports, "Our charters either caught or had shots just about every day we fished in the past three weeks. Yesterday (Friday) we marlin fished for two hours and caught 1 of 2." Best of all, the action has been close-by. Welcome news for all visiting Harbour Island, all of the roads and streets have been repaved. Don't forget to reserve your golf cart and see all of Harbour Island. Sponsors for the Harbour Island Championship are Bank of America's US Trust & Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and Silver Airways. Our sponsors will host the anglers meeting and kick-off dinner at the Coral Sands Hotel overlooking 'Briland's' pink sand beach. Romora Bay Club & Resort will be the setting for the awards presentation and dinner. Tournament registration and angler bag distribution takes place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Romora Bay Sales Office. Daily ribbon distribution will be located at the Romora Bay Marina Dock Office starting promptly at 6:00 AM. The expected twenty-one boat fleet, which includes BBC points leaders Fish Tales, Give It Away and Miss Annie, will dock at Romora Bay Marina, Harbour Island Club & Marina and Valentine's. HARBOUR ISLAND, Bahamas -- Harbour Island, known locally as 'Briland,' is the next venue for the 2012 Bahamas Billfish Championship series. The picturesque island off of the extreme northern tip of Eleuthera is famous for its pink sand beaches, quaint English style architecture, great restaurants and, for BBC anglers, excellent blue marlin fishing.
